Trauma is not just what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.-Peter Levine

Welcome.

Life can be exasperating and daunting. Sometimes it can feel each time we get some footing, the ground slips from under us. Our nervous systems are under constant attack just by living in today’s reality of: technology, traffic, relationships, and ever-constant stimuli. Even simply living is not so simple.

There is however, good news. There are tools. There are also strengths and resources within you that are untapped. There is awareness and growth to be had. This journey can be awkward, difficult, and at times daunting, but also beautiful. My clients have shown me this. If you are reading this, chances are you are looking into therapy and, thus, have completed the hardest step: finding the willingness to be open to change and discover self. Change is always happening all around us, and yet the one area where we can have the most impact is the change we can create within ourselves. Sometimes this involves discovering what is already there, sometimes it involves deepening our awareness of self, or learning new healthier patterns of thought and self regulation. It can involve discovering truths or parts of self we have disconnected or abandoned through shame or trauma. It can involve learning to form true connections with self and others as well as uncovering the obstacles that have prevented us from doing so, and so many other things. The beautiful thing is that it is different for everyone. Your journey is special and unique to you. You are the only one that can fully experience it but, I (or a therapist you find and connect with) can witness, guide, facilitate, and offer support and insight along the way.
